Enable the project files subtab
Make the dedicated Files subtab appear on Job (project) records and confirm it aggregates documents from across the project.

A step-by-step Scribe walkthrough for this task is being recorded. The high-level steps below describe what the feature does; track the Scribe in the register (PS-HT-01).
When to use this
You typically don't need to do anything explicit to enable the Files subtab — it's switched on automatically when File Storage is installed and the Jobs NetSuite feature is enabled. Use this how-to to confirm it's working and to troubleshoot if the subtab isn't appearing as expected.
Prerequisites
- File Storage installed
- The Jobs NetSuite feature enabled (Setup → Company → Enable Features → Company)
- A role with File Storage permissions (see permissions reference)
Walkthrough
- Open any Job record.
- Look for a Files subtab in the row of subtabs at the top of the record.
- The subtab content is rendered inside a small embedded view (an iframe) that lists every file stored anywhere in the project, grouped by category.
If the subtab is missing:
- Check that the Jobs feature is enabled in Setup → Company → Enable Features.
- Confirm that File Storage finished installing — the post-deploy script needs to complete before the subtab is registered.
- Confirm the role you're using has File Storage permissions; if not, use the automated allocator (see File Storage install & configure).
- Reload the record after enabling permissions or features — the form definition may be cached.
What success looks like
- A Files subtab is present on every Job record in your account.
- Opening it shows a categorised list of files associated with the project.
- Drag-and-drop upload works from inside the subtab; the file appears in the list within a few seconds.
Gotchas
- Custom form layouts. If your account uses a heavily customised Job form, the Files subtab may not be added to the default layout. Edit the form and add the FC Storage Project Files field/subtab to the form.
- Roles without File Storage permission. Users without permission will see the subtab but it may render an empty or error state. Grant the role File Storage view-only access at minimum.
- OneWorld accounts. The subtab works across subsidiaries, but each project's subsidiary needs a corresponding Portal Configuration record (see Portal).
